New methodology for side markings

October 2018

The Netherlands’ dense network of cycle paths is always evolving, with new paths being added to the network all the time. In partnership with Gelderland Province, Loendersloot has developed a new method to review riding comfort and safety on existing paths.

The main aim of the project is to develop a set of attributes to determine whether side markings could provide considerable improvement to the path’s comfort and safety. Most Dutch cycle paths don’t have such a facility, so the ability to set priorities is important for local authorities.

Loendersloot’s Bas Hendriksen and Tim van der Werf can help you setting up your own attributes’ set on cycle route safety, whereever you are in the world.
